Course overview

This is the same material we use to onboard our own dispatchers, taught by dispatchers who book freight every day.

You learn how the money actually works in a load: what the broker pays, what the carrier keeps, where the rate is won and where it quietly leaks away in detention, deadhead and paperwork.

There is no certification body behind truck dispatching and we do not pretend otherwise. What you get is the working knowledge and the document templates to run a desk properly.

Who this course is for

Career changers

You want a desk job in logistics and need the fundamentals before you apply anywhere.

Owner-operators

You dispatch yourself and want to stop leaving money on the table in negotiations.

Fleet staff

You run trucks for someone else and need a repeatable workflow instead of firefighting.

New dispatch agencies

You are starting a dispatch service and want a clean process from day one.

What you'll learn

Skills you leave with

  • Read a load board listing and know within seconds whether it is worth a call.
  • Calculate rate per mile, deadhead cost and true profit before committing a truck.
  • Negotiate with brokers using market data rather than hope.
  • Set up a carrier packet and complete broker setups without delays.
  • Plan a trip around hours of service, reset windows and appointment times.
  • Handle rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs and invoicing correctly.
  • File detention, layover and TONU claims that actually get paid.
  • Run several trucks at once with a workflow that does not fall apart.
